Figuring out your genius and how to maximize it in 4 steps!

I know there is a lot people in life that feels like they have no purpose. Feel like you don’t know what direction to head to or that you’re not good at anything. You see these athletes performing these amazing physical feats or the musician killing the guitar in crowd of thousands standing in the arena, mesmerize. You may say to yourself that, “Oh man, they are so talented and I could never do that”. That’s not actually true. In fact aside from the obvious that they put a lot of time in their craft which I assume you all know is a given, they learn something very important. They discover their unique genius.
As Jay-z once said: “Every human being has genius level talent, there are no chosen ones. God has gave everyone genius level talent, you just have to find what you’re good at, and tap into it”. Everyone has limitation AND Strength! I’m willing to bet my last partially clean nickel that there is something that you can do effortless that someone else finds a struggle to do naturally. I was never the fastest growing but when it came to endurance(those days are long gone), I could hold my own on the court. The thing is, most people never dedicated the time to actually finding out what that “thing” is. So without further ado let’s get into it:
1. Get a piece paper, phone note, iPad or whatever your choice of weapons to go to battle with is. Put down four categories and within the four categories label them. For the first section I want you to put: Your strengths. I want you to write down what you think all your strength is. Really think it through, don’t rush it
2. For the second category put down: Accomplishments, put down every job & task that you can recall over your lifetime where you feel like you performed at a high level. What were you doing, what specific task. Anything from managing a team, to solving a problem, to keeping calm during a crisis at home. Don’t hold nothing back.
3. Next for the third category I want you to make a list of all the people who knows you well enough and whose opinion you value. And most importantly, will be honest with you. I want you to contact them up and ask them to name or list what they think is your biggest strengths, best trait and weaknesses. We want to think objectively, don’t get emotional about it. Also you don’t want to lie to yourself because it won’t hurt anyone else but hurt yourself in the long run. Have them email or text you preferably so you can look at it and fully absorb it. It’s not to say that everything they say will be right 100 percent. At the same time, everyone can’t be wrong and you’re right if you disagree about something.
4. The last category, the fourth one I want you write down all your passion. They are multiple reason why. For one, your passion can be tied to something that you might have skill in but yet to explore. Another is that at the end of the day ACTION Is what will be need to discover what you may or may not be good at. And what better way to start narrowing down on you talent and genius then to explore things you would do for free and without anyone forcing to.
Now with all that above I want you start immediately. Don’t procrastinated or push it off. Get started now. You want to get as specific as possible. Look over everything once it’s all complete and start taking action. You don’t want to just work hard but instead double down on your strength. Delegate what you’re not great. I mean you COULD but then that wouldn’t be efficient.
Improving on your biggest weakness could make you decent or good but at what cost? How much time would you have waste on it when you could’ve invest the same time at your strength which you are “okay to good” at but can easily become great at because you’re naturally gifted at it. And beside you could always go back after you masters your natural gifts but by then you should be thriving and just pay someone to do it. If you need a visual guide or have any questions leave a comment. Now get to work!
